Mackinac Island and Bridge; August 12, 2011

Leaving anchorage for our last travel day on Lake Huron

We were anchored on the other side of this lake

Mackinac Island from a distance.
A Michigan tourist trap in Lake Huron.

Travel on the island is by bike or horse-drawn carriages

If you want their fudge, you have to take a ferry

High-speed catamaran + Lollygag = horn toot

Different ferry's were zooming in all directions!
It was crazy - their wakes make us feel like we were in a wash-machine.

Over 15,000 people visit every day in the summer

The "rooster-tails" were as big as the boats

Light house as we were leaving the island

Ferry free-way

Strip of water that connects Lake Huron with Lake Michigan
and separates Michigan's upper and lower peninsulas'

Mackinac Bridge

Crossing the imaginary line

Gaff rigged schooner - Nice

Lollygag on Drummond Island; August 9, 2011

We stayed on Drummond Island for 3 nights because of weather.....rain and BIG winds.
Getting ready to cast off today.
Here are a few pictures to see if you can find Lollygag.

Back in the States; August 8, 2011

We arrived back in the US Monday, August 8th. Pulling into the marina at Drmmond Island, you are welcomed by a very serious customs agent. Later we had a chance to visit and he sure is a nice kid that was very curious about Lollygag

We are anxious to be on our way, but weather is going to keep us here for another day.

Getting checked out by customs -
They let us back in...both of us, whew
Can't show his full face or name tag....

The marina and customs are in the same building and very busy

Kinda looks like Canada.
(Drop the Eh, hey?)
