East of Mt Pleasant, SC; March 27, 2011

Link to anchorage east of Mt Pleasant, SC via Google Maps

We woke to rain this morning, but it stopped before we finished coffee.
The clouds looked threatening all day - temps were in the 70's.
It was a nice change from sun screen.

This is a picture of where we are anchored tonight.
Well off the channel on a narrow cut surrounded by marshes.
We enjoy the solitude.

We are currently north of Charleston

Charleston from the water

Houses line the waterfront

Coast Guard Station in Charleston Harbor

Big ship keeping the Coast Guard busy

Pelican's best friend

Gaff rigged schooner

Schooner going out to sea

We passed by Fort Sumter where the first battle of the Civil War took place

We may stay parked tomorrow if the forecast is right . . . . . sounds like cold weather is on the way.

  1. I'm enjoying your blog! I was a crew member (That very day!) on that schooner "Spirit of Massachusetts" you show leaving Charleston Harbor. We were on our way to Beaufort, NC and hit some nasty weather. The schooner was part of a school ship program but the school (Ocean Classroom) disbanded not long after. 'Spirit" is now a bar/restaurant in Kennebunkport, Maine. I'm surprised I didn't notice you crossing Charleston Harbor. I knew Phil Bolger when he lived aboard his RESOLUTE in the Annisquam River on Massachusetts' North Shore.
