| Inside Lock 3 on the Oswego Canal.- a drop of 27 feet Lockmaster was telling us that this lock hadn't been upgraded since 1920. He said that in winter the canal is closed. They keep just enough water running to keep it from freezing solid and spend their time maintaining equipment. Some of the locks have been operating that way since the 1900's. Amazing, isn't it? |
