Shell Island, FL; May 1 - 4, 2012

First anchorage. The dark water was about 14 feet -
it quickly went to about 2 feet of white sand.

Wind-scoop directs the wind below deck.

The mizzen sail helps keep the boat directed into the wind.

Looked like sand and deep water.....but,

A quick trip in the dingy showed it to be turtle grass -
Not the place to anchor.

Snorkeling at Shell Island - Fun!
The water is clear and the sand is white.
Lots of shells to look at and tons of hermit crabs
and star fish.

Love these sand-pipers
I wondered what they were eating, so dug down in the sand.
Yucky teeny worms and itsy-bitsy crabs.

Lollygag - a perfect home.
