| Turning into the anchorage |

| Scenery changing with islands and the river starting to get narrow. |

| Pilot Knob rises more than 200 feet above the river. It served as a landmark for early steamboats pilots. Pilot Knob also witnessed a most unusual battle in the Civil War. It's the only time in history a cavalry force defeated a naval force. |

| The story goes that this building, used for shipping grain, was built so well that attempts to destroy it failed. So, officials decided to leave it. |

| We were excited to see these Great Egrets. They are bigger than white herons. They have a long thin yellow bill. |

| Diver harvesting freshwater mussels. They used to be exported to Japan for seeding oyster for pearl production. Now harvesting is limited by hand and used for bait. |

| We've seen lots of turtles. It's hysterical to watch them eating the algae along the waterline of Lollygag. Yum. |
