This is the entrance to where we anchored. We held our breath going in as we were touching bottom and barely floated with both bilge boards all the way up. |
The morning started with locking through Demopolis. When the gates opened, we were surprised to see the smooth rock banks on both sides of the shore. Rounded and concave, they went on for 6 miles. |
"Skin - on- frame boat" Looks like its bamboo lashed together - the skin looked like blue tarp and empty bottles on the bow may have been for buoyancy. |
This is the next morning shot of leaving the anchorage - water dropped during the night and we plowed our way out! *note: buy shovel next stop |
